The DCYF Oversight Board provides independent oversight of Washington’s Department of Children, Youth, and Families. Public participation gives families, professionals, advocates, and community members an opportunity to bring concerns directly into the oversight process.

- Submit written comments: Email your comments by the end of the Monday before the Board meeting and specifically state that you want them included as written public comment.

- Know before you share: Board meetings are public, recorded, posted online, and livestreamed. The Board cannot investigate or change an individual DCYF case, so public comment is especially useful for identifying patterns, systemic concerns, policy problems, and issues requiring oversight.
